The Police has confirmed 12 persons dead and 19 injured in a fresh bomb blast in Nyanya, Abuja, Thursday evening.
Five vehicles were also damaged in the incident which occurred near the scene of the previous attack that claimed scores of lives.
Traffic congestion according to the police is hampering rescue operations.
Bodies of the dead have been deposited at the mortuary and the injured rushed to the Asokoro hospital for treatment.
The National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) had earlier confirmed that Nine bodies have been deposited in the mortuary while 11 unconscious persons are receiving treatment. An eyewitness said the explosion occurred at about 8.20pm in a white Volkswagen Gulf car.
Nigeria is undergoing a range of dreadful events which is becoming a mystery for the citizens. On 14th of last month, a bomb blast occurred at the very congested Nyanya motor park claiming the lives of more than 70 people.
The militant terror group Boko Haram have claimed responsibility for the blast. Just hours later, more than 200 secondary school girls, writing their final year WAEC exams, were abducted at the Gov't Girls Secondary School, Chibok. The Boko Haram still claim responsibility for the abduction.
It is still uncleared what the govt are doing to curbed the increasing security anomaly in the country.
