C.O.E. Minna joins league of colleges on strike.

Its almost six months since the federal Chapter of the Colleges of Education Academic staff Union (COEASU) had embarked on strike bringing all Federal Colleges of Education to a halt. Meanwhile, the state chapters are considering joining the long while strike with C.O.E. Minna already on a warning strike which might hopefully have a review on 6th of june.

Its not a surprise to know that the state chapters will join, as in recent times, the Nigerian Tertiary institutions have took to strike as the only solution that might notify the Gov't of their inability to fulfill their agreements with the tertiary institutions lecturers.

Each Union ranging from ASUU, ASUP to COEASU had at a time from 2009 had an agreement with the FG. But from 2009 to date, only the ASUU have being able to reach terms with the Gov't. The Academic Staff of Polytechnics (ASUP) had being on strike for almost 10 months now and there is not much to discuss about the progress of the negotiations.

It was confirmed that sometime this month, the striken lecturers from ASUP and COEASU took to the National assembly to stage a peaceful protest but were barricaded by security operatives who used water cannons and tear gas to chase the lecturers.

We are still left to see which College might be the next to take the torch. We are also waiting to see how the FG transformation agenda can become a reality with the present state of education in the country.

Make #educationfreeforall #nigerians and #bringbackourgirls.
